UNISA Course in Practical Bookkeeping (PRAC01W)
The practical 9-month course will provide you with a good understanding of bookkeeping principles and the bookkeeping system that you need to perform the bookkeeping function.
Course Accreditation
This course is accredited on the NQF at level 5 with UNISA as the accrediting institution. You will receive a certificate issued by the University once you have successfully completed the course. The course is developed and presented by UNISA. CIBA provides additional support to students through its e-learning, online contact sessions and webinars, thereby significantly increasing the pass rate of students.

The content is divided into manageable topics. A student number is issued to you by UNISA once the registration and first payment is received. Thereafter you will receive access to your online study room providing access through AcadamyOne to multi-media lectures, quizzes and further study material linked to each topic. The course instructor will provide you with academic support through the online discussion forum for the duration of the course.

Study material will be in English. Students may, however, communicate and answer the assignments and examination in either English or Afrikaans.

Assessment And Award Of The Certificate
Formative assessment and examination admission will comply with UNISA’s formative assessment rules and policies
Formative assessment:
Four assignments of which two is compulsory and will contribute to the year mark
Summative assessment:
One 3-hour examination paper
Marks:
Students require a final mark of 50% to pass the course. 10% of the year mark and 90% of the mark obtained in the examination will be used to calculate the final mark obtained.
