CIBA supports and develops members through the different stages of their career. This incorporates different aspects of CIBA’s membership, which varies from university qualifications that align to membership criteria, experience gained under the mentorship of an employer, CPD training, specialisation and events.
To optimise the education and development CIBA collaborates with an extensive network of experienced partners and quality service providers.
The collaborations are managed through the Accreditation process which is a key feature of quality assurance.

The purpose of the accreditation of Higher Educational Institutes is:
The accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions is governed by CIBA’s policy for Accreditation of South African Accounting Diplomas and Degrees.

A Memorandum of Understanding is concluded between the Higher Educational Institution and CIBA and where necessary an application form is completed.
As per the Accreditation policy a provider that has been successfully accredited by any of the following accreditation bodies or professional bodies is deemed to have achieved the accreditation standards as issued by CIBA:
A certificate of accreditation is issued by CIBA as proof of the Accreditation.
Application is done by submitting a signed Memorandum of Understanding.

The following Higher Educational are accredited by CIBA:
CIBA supports the importance and regulation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as prescribed by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Professional Bodies have to comply with various laws and regulations specific to the industry and have the legal mandate to issue CPD hours or credits.
CPD certificates are accepted from ACTP’s subject to CIBA’s CPD policy and CIBA’s Standards for CPD Programs

CIBA will review the application and issue an ACTP certificate if the application is successful.
The following SAQA accredited Professional Bodies qualify as CIBA Accredited Training Partners:
CIBA provides educational material through CIBA’s online platform CIBA Academy. Content consists of a mixture of Educational, Skills Development, as well as Business Leadership content. The intention is to impart business development, management, and leadership skills for members to implement in their business.
The purpose of accreditation is to enable training partners to demonstrate they can deliver quality and relevant training and learning for CIBA’s diverse base of members.
This is a formal and visible process that reassures members that key suppliers provide relevant and high quality content.
The approved content and courses of approved partners are facilitated and hosted via CIBA Academy, subject to CIBA’s CPD policy, CPD contractual obligations and CIBA Standards for CPD Programs. CIBA Academy is used as a hosting platform to facilitate the reporting to the Regulatory Authorities and to ensure the relevant development of content that will benefit CIBA members.
Certificates of Attendance issued by Accredited Training Service Providers (ATSP) are recognised by CIBA as valid CPD.

Institutions or organisations who are accredited by CIBA are allowed to use CIBA’s logo (in terms CIBA acceptable usage of logo policy/procedures) for their promotional purposes.
CIBA offers Internships registered with FASSET. Employers and firms may register to become a Chartered Institute for Business Accountants (CIBA) Approved Training Centre (ATC).

CIBA has a database of Accredited Training Advisers or Subject Matter Experts that can serve on CIBA panel discussions or host a presentation for CIBA members. If you are interested, you can apply to be added to CIBA’s database. Communication regarding the call for presenters or panellists are sent to the database.
